The Fairy Cake Mother is founded and operated by myself, Emily Martin. I am a mother of two and have a passion for all things baking. In terms of decorating I particularly enjoy florals, pastel colours, baking for special events, and co-creating cake dreams with you all.

 

Growing up I had some special role models in the kitchen.

My Grandma and I always baked together when we visited or she came to see us. She was always singing songs and silly rhymes as we worked. My mum made creative and spectacular cakes for us every birthday and spent many hours baking alongside me teaching me how to add a “dollop” of this and a “slosh” of that until I could confidently understand typical consistencies and techniques, albeit still calling her for advice often. My Nana and I also often baked together using her balance scales with weights. One of my all time favourites (fittingly) are her fairy cakes. She, to this day, gives me tips, recipes, and feedback on my cakes.

My Gramps also always has a thing or two to add from his artists eye.
